Mahalia Crotz-Kerbs…

was born in apartheid South Africa. My family emigrated to America in the early 1980's. I currently live in Las Vegas with my husband, two boys and a puppers, that’s really an old lady but believes she’s still a baby.

Social justice and art have always been a passion of mine and was a crucial tool for me to work through my experiences with underrepresentation and social injustice. These experiences have driven me to build reimagined worlds enhancing the visibility of minoritized people living everyday lives through my illustrations and writing.

As a little girl I had the penchants of makeup bed time stories for my sisters, friends, and eventually for my children. Now I’m over the moon that I get to do that for a living.

I publish my romance books, contemporary and fantasy, as-well-as children’s books and coloring books as Mahalia Crotz. And, as not to confuse readers, I publish my adult dark fantasy and crime noir novels under the pen name M Kerbz.
